2001–2002 LSU Golden Girl Dance line

Saturday, April 7, 2001 – – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
LSU Band Hall – – The audition will not be open to the public. Only
applicants and judges will be admitted to the tryout room.
Those selected for the Golden Girl Dance line must be regularly
full–time students at LSU during the 2001 fall semester, and must
for Tiger Band (MUS 4250). Girls in college (including transfer
must have a 2.0 grade point average in order to audition for the line.
Previous dance training is highly recommended. Most of the girls on
line were members of their high school dance lines and/or cheerleader
squads. All girls selected for the line are expected to maintain their
audition date weight and or that which is prescribed after acceptance
line. Weigh–ins are held periodically during the fall semester and are
under the direct supervision of the Associate Director of Bands.

applicants who are selected. The dates for these events will be
in the official notification letter.
All members of the Tiger Marching Band, including those selected for
Golden Girls, will receive a Music Activity Award of $640 paid in the

Each applicant is to bring an audio cassette tape of music (applicant
choosing) which will be used for the original routine. Tapes will be
to the tryout official as the applicant number is called. All
equipment will be provided by the Band Department for the auditions.

Part I: One prepared original routine (to audio cassette). This
will have a time limit of one minute and thirty seconds (130). Timing
begin with the first note of music on tape. Each applicant will
individually when the applicant number is called. Applicants audition
Part II: On–the–spot routine. An on–the–spot routine will be taught to
finalists who will be given one hour to learn the routine. This will
be performed by each applicant individually and in groups as required.
After learning the on–the–spot routine, applicants choose a new
order in which to perform the on–the–spot routine. The applicant
number does not change. Following this portion of the audition, scores
the on–the–spot routine will be tabulated and the members of next years
Golden Girls will be selected. The results will be posted on the Band
Office door approximately one hour after the conclusion of the
